I was raised in a Christian home and was taught about the love of Jesus from a young age. When I was 5, I remember "accepting Christ into my heart" but it was not until I was 14 that I fully surrendered my life to Him. I knew then that God wanted me to be a missionary and I was happy to serve Him in that capacity.
My love for airplanes began on my first flight with American Airlines when I was 13. My mom, sister and I were headed to New Hampshire to stay with family for the summer. I always thought that I had to choose between becoming a pilot or serving the Lord in missions, so I chose the latter. It was not until my senior year of college, when I realized that I could do both! That summer I was able to visit Alaska and work with a missionary pilot and his family for 2 weeks and see the ministry there. I knew, without a doubt, that the Lord had called me to this work.
In 2004, I graduated from Bible college with a degree in both Missions and Bible. I currently live in New Jersey and have been attending New Monmouth Baptist Church for the past six years and began flying at a local flight school in 2009. In Sept of the same year, I also joined the Air National Guard as a way to receive my civilian mechanics license, one requirement of becoming a missionary pilot.
Currently, I have obtained 94 hours of flight time and am looking forward to attending Missionaire International to complete all the training I need to serve overseas. I am extremely excited to see all that the Lord has planned for me as I prepare to join the Missionaire ministry in June of 2015. Until then, I will be serving with the military for 6 months in Utah doing heavy maintenance work.
I covet your prayers and am extremely grateful for all those who have had a part in my journey. You all mean so much to me. As "we are one in the body," I know I could not do it without the strength of the Lord and the support of many who have lifted me up in their prayers and given so much. Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel. Let's fly! :)
